Senior design lead

We are looking for a skilled designer with an entrepreneurial drive to become a design lead for Obra Studio.

As a design lead you will help grow the company and be the go-to contact in design projects.

Responsibilities

• Contact with customers; communicate with customers about their projects. Take on a leadership role, with a mix of executing and distributing work among the team
• Design leadership: within the projects themselves, carry out design lead tasks such as (physical) workshops with clients, high-level design thinking and strategy, handle design crits, and drive the project work forward. For this position, design management experience is a given; you managed a team of designers or grew a design function in a product company before.
• Marketing: promote the company and implement strategies to promote our services, from the right content marketing to representing Obra at events

Qualifications

• Knows how to design: you are a design leader with at least 8 years of experience in a design function. You have the ability to dive deep into the pixels, exhibiting excellent taste and skill.
• Ability to learn: You are naturally curious and you constantly teach yourself new skills as the world around us changes.
• Excellent communicator, both orally and written, in English and Dutch

About Obra Studio

We’re a new design studio, aiming to become a reference in UI and digital product design. Currently led by Johan in Mexico, we are actively looking to grow quickly in 2025.

Location

This is a remote position for 70-80% of the time, but requires travel within Belgium to client's offices (for workshops and usability tests), with possibly sometimes travel within Europe.
