AI has flipped software development

I found Luke Wroblewski's recent article “AI has flipped software development” very inspiring.
He says that before, designers would illustrate a feature in mockups or prototypes. Then, developers sorted out what code is needed to ship the feature.
Now, developers build a feature using Al coding agents. Designers then sort out what UX is needed to ship the feature.

We're literally seeing this play out some of our software design projects: for a new project for a US-based startup, we got handed a vibe-coded prototype that contained the needed functionality and were asked to re-asses the UX.
It’s a new way to tackle the design process. Whether this is a good thing remains to be seem over time, but we’re excited to give it a chance.
