Practical
Every design project has a contract.
You can read our standard MSA (Master Services Agreement) here.
The MSAs are tied to SOWs that either have a fixed price arrangement or a time & materials arrangement.
We ask for a 30% advance on all arrangements.
You can find a template for an SOW for a design project here.
You can read an example SOW for Figma consulting here (this document is in Dutch, an English version can be requested, contact us).
We generally work with clients from Europe, but we also have clients in the US.
Johan (founder of Obra) works from the GMT -6 timezone in Mexico City and is generally available every weekday from 14:30 CET, often times earlier.
He visits Belgium a few times per year and is keen to meet clients in real-life to build up the client-agency relationship when possible.
In our project work, we generally work with European freelance collaborators to ensure availability during the European work day.
Every freelance collaborator has the necessary contracts signed regarding NDA and IP transfer. Contracts can be provided on request within a working relationship.
We sometimes work with Mexican freelancers or freelancers from other countries. We are currently still exploring the possibilities of working with the Mexican market in terms of talent & tariffs.
